Donald Trump was in Iowa tonight and gave a speech to thousands of supporters in Fort Dodge. He blasted all of his opponents, especially Ben Carson, who he repeatedly mocked and spoke about for 9 minutes.
He even does a little stabbing scene before asking what the hell is wrong with Iowa that Ben Carson is so close to him in the polls.

That's out the window this cycle. Too much at stake for niceties at this point in history
Sigh. I was merely defending Carson's homeschooler base. These aren't stupid people or stupid children.
I was 5 when Reagan lost to Ford. I was 9 when Reagan won against Carter. We followed him closely in my house, I've re-watched all his speeches, and my oldest sister worked for him. Ronald Reagan said stern things, but he was a gentleman always. He would never have stooped to gross attacks on his opponent, a Christian man. Policy is fair game.
Show me one stump speech where Reagan stuck out his belt buckle and asked someone to knife it. Show me where he called his opponent pathological, like a child molester. Would Reagan have called Iowa voters stupid?
I never said Carson should be president, or that he was my favorite. But I'm pointing out how unwise it is for Trump to continue these scathing personal attacks on a good man.
I'm making Trump supporters here very angry indeed. I can only imagine it's a sign that Trump's lost it.
Have to clear the field first.
Because theyâre desperate to prove theyâre not racists.

That is a lot of it. It’s certainly not because of where he stands on real issues.
Let me guess, your guy for “the job” is Ted Cruz - who only 2% of polled Dems fear in a match against HC, and whose poll numbers are consistently in the basement ... While 32% of Dems fear a Trump-HC fight ... Or, is it that you fancy Marco or Jeb ... Some other establishment puke? Do tell.
“Most of the people in my circles are religious social conservativesâabortion, gay marriage, and religious liberty are big issues for them, as well as a candidateâs character and conduct”.
At least Trump’s not a phony like Carson. He used to refer women that wanted to abort their children to the “best” abortionists.
He sat on the board of directors of CostCo and Kellogg for almost 20 years, while for the entire 20 years both companies were two of the biggest abortion sponsors in the world.
He told the truth about young men going into prison straight and coming out homosexual, which is absolute fact. The minute the media jumped him for it he changed his tune and said he didn’t know what causes homosexuality and was sorry for mentioning prison. He claims he a “Christian”, and the last time I checked the Bible calls for Christians to be humble. His home is a shrine to himself, with his pictures and plagues plastered on the walls in just about every room in the house. This is anything but humble. He even has a down-right creepy painted portrait of himself and Jesus Christ posing in the same picture. This man is strange. Totally unqualified to be president of the United States. Maybe that’s because he was a democrat for the majority of his voting life.
No, it is a sign that Trump supporters know the damage a Ben Carson or GOPe candidate will do to the country if one of them should win the presidency.
Every RCP poll shows only one candidate consistently beating Hillary, and it isn’t Trump.
You have no real proof that Trump would do well, and neither do I. It’s still early. (I have my doubts based on polling.)
Reagan didn't run against someone like Carson, so your argument is apples and oranges.
I worked on Reagan's campaign in Chicago and he won Ill.! Okay, being a "FAVORITE SON" helped, but no 9 year old knows/understands what an adult does.
Reagan was a known "swordsman" in Hollyweird, and adulterer, and impregnated Nancy long before they married. He wasn't a "saint" but he was an extremely good president!
Trump is like a wildcat. He pounces on his opponent and repeatedly preys upon their wekanesses until they die. He did it to Jeb!, he did it to Kasich, he did it to Fiorina and now he doing it to Carson. It’s how you win elections.
Can’t wait to see what Trump will do to Hillary!
Trump is our LAST CHANCE; that’s for sure and certain!
I was a Cruz supporter, but know and understand politics well enough to know that we need Trump right NOW, with Cruz as his VEEP and then Cruz can and must run and win !
Well, Charles, let me educate you and your friends. Unless Trump is elected and that wall built, you can kiss your religious liberties goodbye. We don’t have to like a president - we need someone to straighten out the mess and evil that has been thrust upon us these past 7 years. We have 14 more months to go before a new president takes office, and Mr. Obama can wreck a lot more havoc on this country in the meantime. We need someone tough to undo this mess - this is our last chance before our country is completely gone. Now, you take that back to your social crowd and see how it plays out. I agree with your social issues - I just don’t agree with how you think you can preserve your freedom of worship if we don’t have someone tough as nails in office. I don’t particularly care for everything Trump says either - but, I also know that without a wall and deportation - we won’t have a country.
LOL!
I bet you REALLY harrumph at Patton! YES, I will compare the two, Trump and Patton. In their universe, they got the job done in the way they were born to get it done. It makes a difference to be your own man, unencumbered by handlers or other peoples BIG money.
It’s been so long since we have seen a real American man at the helm of anything, you have forgotten what they sound like, in this prissy, prepared and oh so precise political pander manner of today.
America better be willing to drag somebody across the line who has the WILL to break some china in this country. If Trump should get knocked out by the COMPLEX aligned against him, these other pups are going to push up grass too.
Except of course for the Estab candidate permitted to emerge unscathed and handed the nomination. Wait and watch.
Trump has been the leader on issues. He clearly voiced his position on illegals and refugees. He put out a tax plan. He leads on economic issues. He clearly states his position on trade agreements. He’s clearly stated his position on so many issues.
Every other candidate is waiting on trial balloons. Trump is out front on issues.
“Trump will fail miserably next to Hillary. Carson is the only primary candidate with a lead over Hillary.”
You are wrong on that assertion ...
Polling of Dems shows that they most fear Trump in a match against HC, and by a wide margin (32%) ... Whereas only 2% fear Cruz - and Carson does not bode much better. The problem I have with you evangelicals, is that you do not want a street fighter, rather you prefer Jesus Christ. Well, Jesus ain’t running for the office, and we need a street fighter who will be unapologetic in kicking Dem / RINO ass.
The way I see it, it is the Evangelical “purists” who gave us 8 years of Obama.
My imagination? I followed Reagan closely.
Where is your video or speech of Reagan ever sounding as boorish as Trump?
A much safer way to gauge, is by looking at the crowds at the various rallies.
Exactly, we need a President, not a preacher.
Boorish is probably appropriate.
But would that be your measure of a President?
