Physical fitness testing suspended for all Colorado Springs police officers (Female officers win)

olorado Springs police officers will not be required to take a physical fitness test this year, and those who failed it last year will no longer face penalties, pending the outcome of a discrimination lawsuit 12 female officers have filed.

The city of Colorado Springs and its police department agreed on Friday to all conditions the plaintiffs sought in a preliminary injunction, and on Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Matsch ordered the demands be met.

I would say that stamina and agility and quickness are just as important as brute strength but if brute strength is all that is tested then women can not surpass men ever....

I commented previously on the article several weeks ago aout the after school fight in Allentown, PA that resulted in a policewoman being thrown to the ground and pounded by school kids, that women should not be police officers because they cannot handle the physical requirements of the job. And I was told how wrong I was to blame the policewoman for being pounded.

In my 25 years working for the California Department of Corrections, there was only 1 female officer that I felt had my backside covered. Only 1. Every other female officer was essentially filling space. The worst disturbances in my sector occurred when female officers were in charge. My brother has been a street cop for 24 years and has not found 1 female he would partner with. Lack of ‘street’ judgement, sub-par shooting skills, and poor physical strength are what he has mentioned. We both have noted the higher rate of job injuries among-est female officers as compared to their male counter parts.
