He was the night's biggest loser: full of contradiction and without depth.
Tuesday night's Republican presidential debate was the best so far. The moderators emphasized substance and the candidates complied, most doing themselves some good-the biggest exception being Donald Trump.
-snip-
Jeb Bush went in facing the most pressure and came through, reassuring supporters with his best performance so far. He whacked Hillary Clinton for saying that President Obama's economic policies "get an A," declaring that a weak jobs picture, growing poverty and increasing dependency on food stamps "may be the best that Hillary Clinton can do, but it's not the best America can do."
Mr. Bush scored points in an exchange with Donald Trump on foreign policy by saying, "We're not going to be the world's policeman, but we sure as heck better be the world's leader." He also effectively labeled Mr. Trump's plan to deport 12 million illegal immigrants as impossible, impractical and harmful.

How long ago was is so many threads were infested with "Rove, you magnificent bastard!"?
I blew it off, being sick of the BS of DC GOP politics, but it is great fun to see it all turned around now.
Just read The vile Murdoch tweets about his bitch Rubio
Romney got about 1 million more votes than McCain.
That image helps explain some of Dubya’s missteps, eh?

FNC’s “The Five” had me projectile vomiting earlier this evening and now I know why - Rove must have wrote the copy for their “debate aftermath” drivel.
FNC and the GOPe are going to carry Jeb all the way to Super Tuesday and shove him down the conservative base’s throat.
Rove still trying desperately to save Jeb! from falling off the face of the earth.
When Trump was in Jax doing his rally he tore a page or two off the WSJ article he was reading. Looks like now WSJ fishwrap is piggybacked with unmagnificent tasbard Rove to dump on Trump. Ahahahahahaah-—is that all they got?
I am not sure which is more despicable Rove’s asinine WSJ hit piece or Megyn Kelly compiling a group of Trump haters and passing it off as a legitimate discussion of the debate. This coming from the biggest hack from the first debate.
LOL! That is priceless.
I listened to a bit of the interview Mark Levin had with Rubio this evening. It was so strange, listening to Rubio fine tune his ideas on immigration, exerting immense energy necessary to bring his ideas about. Listening to him makes one believe that the only goal our Founders contemplated in establishing this nation was not for “our posterity” but merely to provide a way station for millions of immigrants to move into the country and establish a seething mass of unidentifiable humanity. Still, Rush, Mark, and Sean think this man is golden, despite knowing his resolve to finish out Obama’s transformation of the country.
Why not just declare a complete moratorium so the country can regain its balance? Cruz said he resented being labeled anti-immigrant. Why does Cruz think he has to be pro-immigrant, along with Jeb!, in order to establish some kind of bonafides.
How did it get to be so settled with politicians that we MUST overrun the country with immigrants? We just have to. We cannot survive without the millions that spit on our culture. It is total insanity.
The Establishment is getting frantic because we are only 83 days away from Iowa and Trump just won’t die.
I have to say straight up that I haven’t seen anyone on FR who could even tolerate Rove for years.
I am so sick to death of Rovio and his stupid comments
Why can’t he and the Bushes just fade away?
I burst out laughing when I saw the author.
Rove makes Morris look like a credible analyst.
