Feel the Bern! UFC champ Ronda Rousey endorses Bernie Sanders for President
UK Daily Mail ^ | November 11, 2015 | Christopher Brennan

Mixed martial arts' Ronda Rousey's mind may be focused on her upcoming bout but she has already weighed in on the 2016 presidential race ahead of her weigh in for a fight on Saturday.

The undefeated UFC champion, 28, has said that she is supporting Vermont's senator Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination and the White House.

Rousey told Maxim that she voted for comedian Roseanne Barr for president in 2012, and is supporting the democratic socialist this election because he does not take corporate money for his campaign.

Well, as Sanders will not be the Dem nominee, I guess we can chalk her up as a Hillary voter. Not a surprise really. Lets just hope she doesn’t bother to cast a ballot.

“[T]here seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously—after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important ... so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be ignorant and subliterate every time he opens his mouth.”

Robert A. Heinlein

IOW, who cares?

That’s it, Ronda, the wedding is OFF! Sorry, babe, you’re cute as all get out, but socialism is kind of a deal-breaker.

She’s a Communist. All of her earnings should be garnished by the gubmint to fund her ideology.

I wonder if she understands that socialism embraces the right of other people to steal her money that she earns by fighting, without her being allowed to fight back.

Naaah - that would require effective schools!

She was a coach on Ultimate Fighter a few years back and it was clear she has serious emotional and psychological issues. Spoiled brat with a horrible temper. Not that I would try and point it out to her in person...

“Feel the Bern” makes me think of hemorrhoids.

Has this been an effective slogan?

I know a few Bernie supporters and to my knowledge, they never suffered a concussion. They’re just dumb as rocks.

‘If he doesn’t win against Hillary [Clinton], then I’ll probably vote for a third party again,’ Rousey said

I first thought that she was positioning herself with Hollywood types, where she is trying to set up a movie career.

After reading the article, she seems more naive about politics. A California upbringing doesn’t help with that.

I suppose this is the end result of getting kicked in the head for a living.

Well, her fights don't usually last long enough for her to get kicked in the head. This is proof that sometimes people are just stupid, even if they aren't kicked in the head. And also that people shouldn't be looking to UFC fighters (or athletes generally) for their political opinions.

Someone should ask her if it's fair that she earns much, much more prize money in her fights than the people she beats. If she wants to be consistent, she should consider splitting the purse 50-50.

Well that’s disappointing. Thought she was pretty cool. Now I know she suffers from poor judgment.

IOW, who cares?

Since Democrats usually ride into office on the backs of low-info voters, I suppose they do.

Fox News recently interviewed a young skull o' mush who said she'd vote for Donald Trump because he was on Saturday Night Live. Then she said she'd vote for ANYONE who was on Saturday Night Live.

Yes, I saw she voted for Roseanne Barr, but I am going to guess that she will likely vote Hillary this time around.

If she were smart she’d shut up and stop alienating potential fans, but she doesn’t seem to be too bright.
