Bill O’Reilly makes a mess of history
Washington Post ^ | November 10, 2015 | George F. Will

Posted on 11/10/2015 12:54:32 PM PST by twister881

Were the lungs the seat of wisdom, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly would be wise, but they are not and he is not. So it is not astonishing that he is doubling down on his wager that the truth cannot catch up with him. It has, however, already done so.

What DOESN’T a liberal make a mess of? History is what they pride themselves on rewriting.

I think BOR’s killing books are scams. He uses his TV show to promote them endlessly. If you read any of them, you don’t find anything new. The coauthor seems to do all of the actual work and BOR promotes the book on his show. I suppose anyone could become a best selling author if they had a platform like BOR does to plug the book.

George who? Is that the stodgy faux conservative curmudgeon that keeps trying to reassert his relevance again?

0’Really makes quite a mess of the present too. Some years ago I used to forward quality verifiable sources of info to him to straighten out the garbage he was spewing. He blocked my email addie.

His is an interesting approach to writing history: Never talk to anyone with firsthand knowledge of your subject.

Good one, George!

No more FOX until BOR, KARL and Rivera are gone.

FOX has become the Faux that the left said they are.

I don’t care for O’Reilly-but his books appear to have been very well researched. On the other hand, I’ve considered George Will a GOPe sock puppet since around 2009-he can’t abide the inconvenient truth that Reagan was not an establishment republican-but that is what most of us loved about him...

He seems to have the better of O'Reilly in this argument.

It pains me to say it, but I concur wholeheartedly with Will’s assessment. O’Reilly has blown it right along with FNC in general.

Ailes and BOR are going discover what Lincoln meant by “You can fool some of the people some of the time.......”

George Will has dimmed in my view since I found out he is an atheist, but O’Reilly really strikes me as a bombastic bore.

I quit tuning O’Reilly in many years ago.

This angry outburst from O’Reilly still makes me laugh, though:

In that case appearances are deceiving. In an interview he gave about his book 'Killing Jesus' BOR said he had to write the book because no one has ever gotten the story of Jesus' death correct. No one. Including Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The man is the very definition of an insufferable bore!

Pretentious ill informed bore v. Pretentious tedious beltway hack. At this point, what difference does it make?

There has to be some kind of personal feud going on here.

Will started this by not calling a fellow employee and giving them the courtesy of a heads up that he was writing a critical piece about BOR’S book. Then Will used his position on Special Report to try and tank the interview airing later that night with The Factor.

Both players are reacting like there is a long simmering feud.

George Will could hardly find the words to say when O’Reilly challenged him on his article. It was just a bunch of handwaving, trying to convince the world that he was right and O’Reilly was wrong. Pretty pathetic.

I heard somewhere that BOR and Brian Williams went school together.

Coulda happened.

He does. And while I am no fan of Will's, the so called interview between Will and BOR last week confirmed my judgement of BOR as an intellectual lightweight...make that featherweight...and a completely obnoxious bore. He's rude, condescending and stupid. That's three strikes in my book and more than enough reason to never tune in on the BOR show again.

Nope. Brian Williams and I were classmates and we're at least 10 years younger than BOR.
