The president of the University of Missouri system resigned Monday amid criticism of his handling of student complaints about race and discrimination.
President Tim Wolfe said Monday that his resignation is effective immediately. The announcement came at a special meeting of the university system's governing body, the Board of Curators.
The complaints came to a head over the weekend when at least 30 black football players announced they would not participate in team activities until Wolfe was removed or stepped down.
For months, black student groups have complained of racial slurs and other slights on the overwhelmingly white flagship campus of the state's four-college system. Frustrations flared during a homecoming parade Oct. 10 when black protesters blocked Wolfe's car, and he did not get out and talk to them. They were removed by police.
Black members of the football team joined the outcry on Saturday night. By Sunday, a campus sit-in had grown in size, graduate student groups planned walkouts and politicians began to weigh in.

He didn’t get out of his car to talk to the Blacks face to face? Has anyone been reading the news over the last couple of years?
Who in their right mind would get out of a car to confront people angry enough to step into a parade and block a vehicle from moving on?
As for racial comments on campus, seriously? This is what he is being removed for?

Race hustlers get what race hustlers want. I have much less respect for the university and for Gary Pinkle as a result. Much, much less respect.
Has anybody learned what their original beef is? All I hear is the after-effects and endless whining.
I’m guessing they threatened to “ferguson” Jesse Hall and tear down the columns if he didn’t go.
Maybe the University of Missouri will name as President a black Muslim transgender cross-dressing homosexual. It ought to be immune from pressure to resign.
It was probably a done deal from the beginning. He’s likely generally of the protesters’ mindset, being a modern university president. That said, I’ve seen nothing documenting any actions/inactions by him that even remotely justifies his resignation.

He must acknowledge his white privilege??? Am i reading that correctly? What did he do? I have been off the news grid for a few days.
