Missouri coach Gary Pinkel shared a message of support for the Tigers' players of color that are choosing to strike until university president Tim Wolfe either resigns or is removed from his post.
"The Mizzou Family stands as one. We are united. We are behind our players," Pinkel wrote on Twitter, adding the #ConcernedStudent1950 hashtag to the message.
These Tigers started their protest on the heels of increased racial tensions that have bubbled up on Missouri's campus, most recently involving an incident on Oct. 24 when a swastika carved with smeared feces was put up on the wall of a new dormitory.

Good point. Blame the university president for his poor recruiting and coaching, and leverage that to hang on another year in hope of doing better next year.
The President should suspend the coach and the boycotting players. If the rest of the staff and team want to play, fine, if not, it probably won’t change the end result of the season by more than one game, and won’t have a meaningful impact on the conference standings.
If the school fires the president, the message will be very clear: football is more important than truth or justice. Even if every white player agreed to play, the school would have to forfeit their games because they wouldn’t have enough players to play every position.
Pinkel’s own self interest has him succumbing to nothing more than a series of racially motivated political BS. The black president of the students association is one of the complainants. Imagine that? A young black guy who’s already into politics while a college student. How convenient to serve as the sucka for the BLM et al racist radicals just two hours from the holy site of Ferguson.
Even if some of this is not false-flaggish, SFW? Good grief, no one ever calls others names, engages in road rage, or have private conversations derogatory to different gender, ethnicities or religion?
And the President of a four campus U system should be involved? What about the underlying positions, like the cops or committees or whatever? Where were their efforts and findings?
Lastly, the joke that the President is supposed to “admit his white male privilege” tells you all you need to know. The Magic Words of the far left racial movement.
And this from a U who’s affirmative action’d past President, Elson Floyd, had a wife who was recorded calling whites “crackers” and “pink toes” in a conversation with the then-Assoc AD’s wife, also black
This whole thing just stinks of hypocrisy and politics. Pinkel is desperate, presiding over a failing football program, now more than ever. Attaboy Gary, way to show your true colors. Now go cheat on this wife and get another DUI.
Eliminate football at Mizzou. End of story

Apparently Gary’s contract is up in December. It would be easy for the university to decline to renew it because of this stunt.

Further research shows his contract was extended until 2017, but apparently his divorce a few years ago requires that he pay his wife alimony of $23,000 a month while he’s the coach at Mizzou. Interesting.
I'm afraid they already are. Not only at Mizzou, but nearly everywhere else. The squeeeeeaky wheel keeps getting the grease instead of replaced!
Missouri may give in and fire the President.
And then you will have Alumni sending their children(and revenue)
to other universities. In addition, weathly donors will find other places
to give their money.
My prediction is the University will not cave on firing the President.

Well, that's a given in most NCAA programs at that level.
People should stop watching football and get a life. Problem solved on a whole number of fronts.
