I agree. I was giving this some thought this morning. Is it partially a jaded audience that continually asks for better laughs, or is it just terrible writing and poor comedic skills?

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve lost my funny bone, and I don’t think others like you have either.

While some of these skits are marginally entertaining, for the most party they’re just “B” grade material, some even “D” grade these days.

Other folks make me laugh. It doesn’t have to be off-color either. For me, the best comedy is quick witted, not bash you in the face level stuff.

I watched Drunk Uncle last night. That was totally lost on me. I’m so sick of the racial slant, where Whites are habitually insulted as if they harbor every stereotype known to man addressing White toward Black opinions or character traits.

It’s open season on White men on SNL. They’re shown as bigots, racists, and deniers of the Black experience. That couldn’t be farther from the truth, but Whites are sick and tired of being blamed for everything from slavery which ended shortly after the Civil War, to unwed mothers and the plight of the Black family today.

Yes racism lingered, but White racism against Blacks is far less than racism of Blacks against Whites. It needs to stop.

Man up Blacks. Take at least 5% ownership of your plight and we can talk. Right now it’s closer to 0.00005%.

Whites aren’t perfect. Who knew? Blacks aren’t perfect either. If a White man commits a crime, he’s considered a criminal. If a Black man commits a crime, he’s considered a victim of Whites.

Racial humor is D O A. Racism isn’t funny in real life and it isn’t funny in humor. And yes, Whites can be the victims of racism, and SNL proved it again last night.

The over the top sexist presentation by those two supposed “whores” was what I call in your face insulting. It wasn’t funny on any level. It was just crass. I’m surprised Trump would dignify it with participation at the end of the skit. It as beneath him.

At any rate, overall it was a higher level of SNL than I’ve seen in recent years. I don’t watch all the time, but when I do tune in, it’s almost unbearable to watch.

Last night did provide a few laughs.

It got SNL it’s highest ratings in three years. (preliminary numbers, not sure if they change)

It is interesting to watch the ratings, because it reveals which group supports trump. The older the better through about 55-60. Then they dip a bit. I’ve seen this touched on in focus groups so it may be a valid indicator.

Thanks for the comments.

That describes for me. Television mocked, demeaned and discredited white folk one too many times. I wised up about 20 years ago. They literally mocked this viewer right out of their ratings game.

I don't get the comments that people post here and elsewhere like, "SNL hasn't been funny in 20 (30) years." SNL has frequently not been funny. I mostly watching during the Eddie Murphy years. And there were plenty of sucky skits then.

I think everybody remembers the funny bits, and forgets about the suck. I don't watch SNL much anymore, but there is some funny stuff on it still. And there is some that is bad.

I saw a bunch of bad reviews of the Trump show in the media. I didn't watch live, but watched on the DVR after I had read the reviews. I laughed out loud at several points in the show. The cold open of MSNBC (with no Trump) was pretty darn funny, and took some solid shots at Hillary and Bernie.
