The German government is to downgrade the status of Syrian migrants so that those granted refugee status can only stay for two years and are not entitled to bring their families with them.
According a report in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) will now only grant "subsidiary protection" to Syrians fleeing civil war.
Until now, they had "primary protection", granting them the right to stay in Germany for up to three years and allowing them to bring their families to stay with them.
BAMF says that in August some 55,600 Syrians requested asylum in the country, with 38,650 currently holding legal refugee status. Only 53 currently hold "subsidiary protection".
Now Germany's governing "grand coalition" of Christian Democrats (CDU) and Socialists has agreed to suspend the right to family reunification and allow Syrians to stay for just a year.

Intercept the boats, drop the muslims back on shore in Turkey and N. Africa, burn the empty boats, repeat as needed.
How badly will that frost Merkel’s undies?
If level of cryogenics is insufficient, lower the time limit in year increments until absolute zero is reached.
Good luck getting them out. Won’t happen.
Get rid of them all now. Kicking the can down the road two years until they’ve gotten their hooks into the country by the millions is no better than the current policy.
BAMF? As in “Bad A$$ MoFo”?
Rounding up these “refugees” after 2 years will be almost impossible. Besides they will have organized their cells and brigades and started the attacks by then and the Father Land will have much bigger problems to deal with. Such as just staying alive, much like the first years of the Soviet occupation.
they’ll protest, the UN and Amnesty International will plead their cases and by the end of the day they’ll get about a half dozen to leave.
2 YEARS?? OMG!! Should be 2 MINUTE!
Has anyone told the Syrians?
Berlin 29 April 1945 - The Reichschancellery today issued a statement saying that members of the Allied Armed Forces from Russia, the British Empire and the United States, would be allowed to occupy the Third Reich, but that there lease would expire in two years, on May 1, 1947, at which time they were to return to their home countries. While guest of the German Reich, they were expected to respect the country’s laws and the persons of its citizens, especially its women. From SHAPE HQ General Eisenhower declined to comment, while his Soviet counterpart, Gen. Zhukov offered only a murmured barnyard epithet and a typically Russian peasant chortle.
“Rounding up these ârefugeesâ after 2 years will be almost impossible”
Yes, that’s the idea.
Syrian refugees are like herpes.
One you have em good luck Ever getting rid of em,
Exactly. What a joke. Have some of the U.S. Congresscritters taken political jobs in Germany these days?
Too little and far too late. Merkel owns this travesty and she needs to pay the price for destruction of the German nation, tantamount to surrendering to the muslim horde.
Yeah, sure thing!
Who’s going to round up the savages after two years. LOL LOL
Stay for 2 years, eh? I call BS.
The problem is that once they are there, they will never leave. And I don’t believe for a second that the current German government will make them leave. A more conservative one might, but it remains to be seen if they get one. I suspect this announcement is just to shore up Merkel’s falling poll numbers.
Good luck finding them.
Once they get their traveling documents, they will scatter across the EU like the plague.
Kinda like what they will be doing here but I am sure there will not be much of a limit on their length of stay unless the American people put their bodies on chill mode.
C'mon guys .. we gott'a slow ya down a bit
Ah, so in a decisive move Merkel has decreased the stay limit from one year to two.
