For one, I hope your trip north was tolerable, which means not thru the various and sundry metroplexes that mar the Northeast. I'm glad you got to say goodbye to your mom in time.
Due to the way the real estate market works, I suspect you'll be in Boston until March at least. The real estate markets pretty much close down for the holiday season.
I don't know if you're planning to return to Florida, but some us here at the Canteen are whispering "Texas" in your ears.
Yes...I noticed that!
:-)
The only tough part of the journey was NYC...the rest was a breeze and held a lot of wonderful memories (Mostly the corridor from Richmond to DC...I opened up the throttle on Ol’ Blue on that stretch of 95 once and hit 12o mph.
It was cool till the handlebars started wiggling.
Since it was Saturday, DC was deserted and we were through it in no time.
No such luck on the GW Bridge.
I-95 -- for me at least -- is intolerable in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. You have my sincerest sympathies. Too many people in too constricted an area.
So it's back to Florida in the spring?
I hate the jersey Turnpike.
Your intolerance of that particular stretch of Hades is quite justified.
New Jersey used to be a wonderful state in which to live, but it started going down the tubes in the mid-Seventies. I left in ‘71 and never went back except for rare visits. When I do go back, my intercity traveling is always done on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor, which is the civilized way to travel through that hive.
The opening scene of “The Sopranos” which depicts the little stretch of the Jersey Turnpike that goes by the fuel tanks has become an iconic symbol of that entire route! LOL!

I am so very sorry to read this, and for your loss. I am sending sympathetic thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. <3
Thank You, Mama Bear. I really appreciate that.
