Listen, it doesn’t matter if Politico is a bunch of slimes! It doesn’t matter if Carson is a good guy or not. It doesn’t matter if the Dems have done worse. The question is, did Dr. Carson tell people he got an offer from West Point when he didn’t? Those who campaign on a higher plain are going to be held to a higher standard. If he did he will be better off to admit it, apologize and move on. Once you step in it, the more you twist the worst it is going to stick!
For those of you who support Carson you need to understand that it is also better that these things come out now, rather than in the general election. Remember the 2000 elections? Bush was holding a 3-4 point lead going into the final weekend before the election. The story broke that Bush had gotten a DWI about 20 years before. Almost immediately the momentum shifted and the election ended in a photo finish.
Again, it doesn’t matter what the Dems have done. If it is true it is a character flaw which has to go into the equation of his character and electability.

There are quite a few of them around. In my area, the fake veterans work in key businesses as clerks and make it clear that they don’t want any business from real local prior servicemen, probably because they don’t want the truth about them to be revealed. It’s a county on the CO Rockies, of course, so it’s no surprise (very few from real combat specialties in the neighborhood, enormous drug problems, corruption, etc.). One obvious lifetime civilian, for example, said that he was infantry, and that the infantry designator was “13B” (*wrong*).
Well Presidential politics is a full contact sport and the meek do not inherit the Oval Office. Carson is getting closelined on the 20 yard line.
Part of this fragility is the spring loaded rubber knees of the right when they live down to the worse liberal-made (and hypocritical) caricatures of people who do not think but recoil at once from a potential problem.
The time to revel in being herds of cats is gone. It’s now a choice to fix on a reasonable, if imperfect fellow — or else have the most arrant nonsense shoved down your throat on a constant basis.
Its nice they looked into his background in such detail so lets go over it all and compare to Obama’s.
Lets compare his birth certificate to Obama’s
And his social security number.
And his school records.
And his work history.
etc etc...
Part of this is self fulfilling prophecy on part of supporters and too easily accepted by the candidate.
Blame Trump for much, I have to say, but never blame him for not pushing a point as hard as possible even if he did not score perfection on the attempt.
Welp, Trump is already going thermonuclear on Ben on Twitter, Cruz is the only one acting like the adult in the room.
Dr. Carson did not embellish anything. He was in the ROTC, he was a good student with good grade and he was told he could be admitted to West Point if he applied.
This is one of many efforts by the media to attack and destroy anyone who is seen as a threat.
Whether you support Dr. Carson or not is not the point. He is being attacked by the dishonest MSM. He is being lied about.
It is our duty to expose the lies and refute them.
If someone ever actually makes a LIST of “not factual” things and the closest truths to them, and compares them for Ben vs. any of the liberal clowns... Ben is going to smell like the rose with a nick in the edge. The liberals are going to smell like the stinkweed dipped in manure.
It’s righties themselves that are partly to blame for such contextless perfectionism.
Fortunately, Trump is no longer acting in a history vacuum. This is what he does to everybody, it’s his testing mechanism. Remain standing afterwards and he shakes your hand with an “’s all right Bro.”
he is getting the full Cain and Thomas treatment. I wish he could or would summon up some goons to go over there and punch their lights out.
Shame on Fortune for believing the lie from Politico
So how much of this is false and how much is true? Was Carson encouraged to apply to West Point?
There’s a reason why this smear has come out on a Friday. Politico must have hoped there would be a whole weekend for this story to fester. Carson’s people and others have responded very quickly and we’ll see whether by the Sunday talk show circuit Carson is still on the defensive, or a’la Dan Rather’s “Fake but accurate” fiasco the story is Politico’s clumsy hatchet job and decline from ten percent credibility to zero. If Carson attacks and the other candidates back him up it might distract from some of his recent his bizarre comments and benefit him in the short term.
Carson was still failing to clarify the facts on his Facebook page just a few months ago. He is fine with letting the public believe something that is not totally true. Carson is now getting a body check on it from the Libtard MSM. He should have known better and clarified this stuff a long time ago. Now he’s going out of the Presidential race.
yet another high-tech lynching of an”uppity black man”,
Huh? You’re playing the race card? Here on FR?
Facts are stubborn things.
He either said he was offered a “full ride” to West Point, or he didn’t.
He was either offered the ride, or he wasn’t.
A misrepresentation is a false statement made with knowledge that it is false with the intent that another and another does rely on it to his detriment.
As just one example, if he told medical school admissions committees that he could have been another Colon Bowel but wanted to be a healer instead, and in fact no offer of a full ride to West Point was made, then he’s not (clearing throat) being honest. Capiche?
He either lied or didn’t. What does race have to do with it?
Totally agree.
