Sessions: TPP ‘Breathtaking’ Erosion of Sovereignty
Breitbart ^ | 11/6/2015 | Alex Swoyer

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)is blasting the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal that was made public Thursday. Sessions tells Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM that the deal is “an erosion of sovereignty.”

“They’re not even asserting that it will create jobs in America, raise wages in America or reduce our trade deficit because these agreements in the past have been bad for all three,” Sessions told Breitbart News’ Stephen K. Bannon.

Bannon asked Sessions about a commission that is formed through the TPP that could potentially have an effect of global governance.

“I think for President Obama, I do believe the driving force behind this is a belief that this is some sort of a one unified governmental structure. It creates judicial bodies. The language of it confirms what I’ve been saying,” Sessions said, affirming the creation of an oversee commission that will have control over the parties and interpretation of this agreement.

On the commission’s control and oversight, Sessions said, “It’s really breathtaking and it’s an erosion of sovereignty.” He added, “particularly an erosion of congressional power.”

“The president can participate in some of these things and advance what he’d like to see, but it takes the people out through their elected congressional representatives,” he explained.

“It is a contract,” Sessions stated of the TPP. “These trade agreements have been one sided over and over and over again. I believe in trade. I voted for most of the trade agreements in the past, but I am particularly concerned about this one on substance and even more concerned about this commission because of this delegation of power.”

Russian media outlets recently reported that China and Russia had been invited to join the TPP, something the State Department said wasn’t being negotiated at the moment.

It is interesting that Jeff Sessions and Bernie Saunders both agree on this, albeit for different reasons.

It won't be turned back. The democrats and republicans will have just enough votes to approve it while allowing a huge show of dissension from certain vulnerable members whose districts will be decimated economically, but it is all a Potemkin village.

Not one of the congressmen care one whit about the citizens of this country.

The sooner everyone understands this, the better, and we can deal with the problem.

All true. Sad, but true.

And the majority of congress voted for it.

Says a lot about who’s side they”re on, and it isn’t on the American side.

But be rest assured that the 1%’ers, the free traders, the merchantilists, the cronies, and the NWO crowd will profit handsomely from this deal.

In the menan time, the rest of us have found out what’s at the end of the road to serfdom.

Congress already gave up the treaty power to Obama. This is all a scam.

Didn’t Cruz vote for TPP and then tried to weasel out of responsibility for the vote?

I remain Trump/Cruz but hope Cruz can see the light.

Trump is probably the one who exposed the TPP details. Just like he outed Rubio for his credit cards and Carson for his West Point scholarship lie. Trumps got damn good investigators and he’s unleashing just the opening salvo of what he’s got on these politicians and candidates.

It's always interesting when the far left and the far right agree on something. It does seem that when that happens they're advocating for US citizens while the other side represents the DC crowd and their paymasters.

What I find interesting is that Senator Sessions is speaking out strongly on an issue that helps Trump and no one else. (well, maybe Huckabee or Santorum or some other second tier candidates)

The one thing that warms me to Trump more than anything else is that he seems to have an excellent relationship with Sen. Jeff Sessions, who is probably the most knowledgeable person in the U.S. Senate (including Ted Cruz) on issues of immigration.

Except for a handful of the 525, this is our government - totally owned by the elite & have exactly nothing to provide for the people. We are all surfs & apparently that satisfies the us as there is no blow back. Ya got your dancing with the stars & your six-pack & soon your next door muzzie - so let's just move along.

Would that TPP tribunal be constitutional? Wouldn’t the tribunal be depriving persons of due process of law? A treaty may be the supreme law of the land, but cannot give the government powers denied to it by the constitution. And an American on the losing side of a tribunal ruling would have standing to sue.

There is little to stop TPP now that TPA has passed. We need to get very loud and angry regardless of where one stands politically, now!
