Seriously, these added characters are a real drag. Please, please find the “fix”!
They are apparently not parsing the UTF-8 multibyte characters (such as sequence "
激" with ampersand, pound sign, then decimal number, terminated by semicolon) from the user input form. It should be a few minute fix in that parser for someone who wrote their back end since the problem is so easy to reproduce. Or half an hour for someone experienced with general server side programming and who is coming to their code for the first time.
It's odd that the problem has persisted for so long already, as if the guy working on their server software is on vacation or has left.
