TPP TRADE DEAL HITS U.S. IMMIGRATION IN "A MASSIVE WAY"

TPP TRADE DEAL HITS U.S. IMMIGRATION IN "A MASSIVE WAY "

Speaker of the House Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) previously denied that the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal impacted U.S. immigration; however, now that the full 5,544 pages of the TPP are public and being reviewed by experts, Ryan's statement was false.

"The way we wrote TPP, it deals strictly with trade and not immigration," Ryan told Newsmax six months ago, adding that the idea the TPP consists of immigration reform is "the latest urban legend."

However, in Chapter 12 of the TPP titled "Temporary Entry for Business Persons," the word "immigration" is mentioned nearly 10 times. Furthermore, both Chapter 12 and Chapter 10 in the TPP deal with immigration law – specifically foreign workers entering the United States.

Rosemary Jenks, the Director of Government Relations for NumbersUSA, reviewed both Chapter 10 and Chapter 12 of the TPP and told Breitbart News that the TPP definitely impacts immigration in the United States.

--SNIP--

Chapter 10 is a massive impact on our economy through immigration because it means that not only foreign companies will be coming to the United States to compete with American companies, but those foreign companies can send in their foreign employees - they don't have to hire Americans. They don't have to pay American wages. They are sending their own employees to the United States to provide a service and compete with American workers and American companies that are already providing that service, so you are going to displace American workers from jobs and you are going to undercut wages by increasing the supply of services.

It was SECRET and absolutely, positively antiAmerican
so the GOP, every one except Sessions,
stabbed the American people in the face.

Including the bastards in the GOP who allowed
the vote.

“Just another in the long line of crap sandwiches President Cruz will be cancelling.”

Strange thing to say. Despite Senator Sessions’ warnings, Cruz voted for cloture on the bill the first time, and as Cruz so correctly stated about another bill, a vote for cloture is a vote for the bill.

I'm old enough to remember the promise that America would build a service economy as a trade off for giving away manufacturing. And tney're going to insource services. Just great.

"She explained that if one country in the TPP believes the U.S. isn't admitting enough of that country's workers or corporate workers, then that country can go to a committee set out in the agreement and say "hey, the U.S. isn't giving us our full benefit under TPP, so we want to bring them into a dispute resolution."

And to which country will the taxes on these worker's wages be paid?

The GOP candidates supported it to the point where they knew it would pass, to appease their corporate masters. Now they’ll see if we’re stupid enough to believe they are really against it.

Correct me if I am wrong, did not Cruz allow this bill to go forward?? Whether by accident, stupidity, misaligned trust or not being up on it, one cannot hide from their votes verses rhetoric.

Trump warned us about this. As did the patriot, Sen Jeff Sessions.

Last two patriots standing.

This TPP thing is not reflecting well on Cruz. The trade beast has exposed it’s hideous head (out there, now, for all to read). Saying you were hoodwinked about it is not likely going to fare well, ultimately.

Who but Trump can do something about this?

We’ve been sold out and that includes Cruz, inexplicably.

foreign companies can send in their foreign employees - they don't have to hire Americans

But numerous members of congress received generous "contributions" for making this possible.

Nice try Troll. Birther threads about Cruz not getting you anywhere these days?

TPA and TPP are different things and your continued attempt to equate both as one and the same is flat out intellectualy dishonest.

Cruz voted for TPA the first time in cloture. TPA is a GOOD thing under most circumstances. The reason it may not have been so this time was that it gave Obama 17 momths or so to negotiate trade deals like TPP, but since TPA is passed for 6 years, it would also allow the next President the opportunity to get their own trade deals down, something Cruz felt would be much harder to pass when/if a Republican were in the White House. He also believed with the House’s involvement that it would be HARDER (not easier) to pass a trade bill since it would require 268 votes, not just 2/3 in the Senate which is a virtual impossibility to any trade deal whether beneficial or not given the political makeup.

There was serious concerns about the backroom deals and cronyism going on to get TPA passed that caused Cruz to back off the final passage, but it doesn’t negate the fact that TPA is a GOOD thing. The main issue was with giving Obama the authority for the remainder of his term rather than waiting for the next President to take office.

However, people like you are being dishonest about TPA opposition trying to link it to TPP as one and the same because you are a trade protectionist who favors high tariffs and opposes free markets. This is why Mark Levin called out the differences he had with the TPA compared to Jeff Sessions’ opposition to it. Sessions never voted for TPA even when the Republicans controlled everything because he’s a protectionist at heart. This is why Cruz also pointed out Sessions opposition as “not accurate” when he was defending TPA because he knew Sessions and people like you were trying to manipulate the reasons for opposition to support protectionist views.

TPA is a good thing if you’re for free trade.

He did, and after learning more about TPP he voted Nay on the actual TPP Bill. His contention was that he was misled about the particulars and when he found out the truth he changed his mind.

Keep in mind the details of TPP were both secret and ‘evolving’ when it first came up.

Sounds like the right way for our Representative to do his job, be smart enough to change his mind.

If TPP is what you have against Cruz then you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.
