OTS of different actors at play here, it seems.

This has to do with a crash in 2013, and likely the sanctions, as well. Two agencies seem to be at odds over the safety of them.

The Sanctions against Russia means that Boeing isn’t shipping pars, and some companies are likely “making do” with whatever they can get (from China), certified or not.

Add to that shutdown last week of Transaero, a major Russian International carrier, largely due to restrictions and revenue losses from the sanctions, as well as declining oil traffic.

With over 150 737’s flying in Russia, this is likely aimed at hitting Boeing’s revenues, as well.

Lots of turmoil in the Russian Airlines right now.

I can believe the bit about trade sanctions making it difficult to obtain certified spare parts for the 737s. But I thought the investigation into the 2013 crash blamed pilot error.
