U.S. intelligence: Bomb likely brought down plane
CNN ^ | 11-4-2015 | Holly Yan, Catherine E. Shoichet and Ashley Fantz

The latest U.S. intelligence suggests that the crash of Metrojet Flight 9268 was most likely caused by a bomb on the plane planted by ISIS or an ISIS affiliate, according to a U.S. official familiar with the matter. The official stressed that there has not been a formal conclusion reached by the U.S. intelligence community. "There is a definite feeling it was an explosive device planted in luggage or somewhere on the plane," the official told CNN's Barbara Starr.

The assessment was reached, the official said, by looking back at intelligence reports that had been gathered before Saturday's plane crash and intelligence gathered since then. The United States did not have credible or verified intelligence of a specific threat prior to the crash, however, the official said, prior to the incident, "there had been additional activity in Sinai that had caught our attention."

Another U.S. official said the intelligence regarding ISIS is in part based on monitoring of internal messages of the terrorist group. Those messages are separate from public ISIS claims of responsibility, that official said.

Either way this goes, a Russian response is coming. Whoever ends up on the receiving end has serious trouble coming...

The Russians don't fret much about collateral damages when going after bad guys.

There is going to be big blowback from this, and it's already started.

Clearing the Sinai would be a good start.

“Clearing the Sinai would be a good start”

Yeah...
If you have “ISIS of the Egyptian Desert in Sinai” anywhere around you, your window for getting on the road to Europe before the bombing starts is slipping fast.

A friend who has flown through that airport said security is lax there, and for that reason, figured it was a bomb days ago.

The Russians will likely be contacting family members of the ISIS scum.

Soviets Offer 'How-to' Lesson 1986 and Muslims had kidnapped four Soviets

the KGB castrated a relative of a prominent Muslim leader and sent the severed organs to the Muslim, with advice that they knew of his other relatives.

The Soviets were pretty much left alone after that.

I’ll never understand why anyone living in a country with military operations in the Middle East would ever travel to that sh!t-hole.

Unless our involvement was requested, why are we even assisting in the downed Russian airplane in Egypt? I haven’t heard any Americans were on board. If not then why are we involved? Let Russia and Egypt figure it out.

“A friend who has flown through that airport said security is lax there, and for that reason, figured it was a bomb days ago.”

Sharm has been on the warning lists for airport security for years, dating back to the 90’s, at least.

I am still going to be conservative on this and say that there is still no evidence of a bomb. There was a Chinese plane a few years ago that also broke apart in flight - people also thought it was a terrorist plot but investigators think it was stress fractures in the pressurize plane cause the plane’s superstructure to fail.
