For the entire year, the House is scheduled to be in session for 111 days.

Is there any way we can get them to extend that break until the end of 2016?

Common sense in representation would have NO lame duck session planned.

Dear Congressman:

I am a very big supporter of Congress and the men and women who serve there. I appreciate all the hard work you folks put in.

As a reward, I would like to support you not only taking a long summer break in 2016, but would encourage you all to extend that break until the end of the year.

Your devoted supporter...

Great! Too bad that the Boehner budget sell out means that the government can’t be shut down for the summer. That would be such a blessing to the nation that the GOP would win in a landslide.

Maybe they’re psychic and believe during that time period the country will come completely unraveled or attacked or something in the works to stop the election process. We’ll see.

Infact, come to think of it, why not take a break indefinitely, and we’ll bring in ‘temporary workers’ to fill your jobs while you rest and relax- enjoy yerselves, and remember, take yer time- no rush

Yes, they can campaign and tell us how Conservative they are and how they are against obamacare, PP, the debt ceiling, IRS wasteful spending, gun control, illegal immigration, etc. expanding government and for closing the border, fixing the VA, for the military, for limited government, etc. Without having to do anything but campaign and tell us why we need them.

On the other hand Senator Baker, whose father represented Tennessee’s First CD, used to say his father told him the problems in Congress got worse when they air conditioned the Capitol and Congress stayed in session longer.

Expect Executive order after executive order and mulitple interim appointments by Obama to tie the hand of Congress for a generation.
