How else do you think the pilot is able to change gears?
He must use the gear stick, coordinating it with depressing the clutch pedal to make smooth accelerations. A skilled pilot can go from 1st to 6th gear without anyone noticing./s

How that passes for good reporting is beyond me. At least have someone familiar with cockpits and flight controls identify the object before writing the caption. My young grandson could identify it as a “joy stick” and he knows little about flying.
