Why impeachment? Robespierre never impeached anyone and the situation in Europe resembles those heady days (forgive the pun) of the French Revolution.

For some reason I seem to recall that the leaders of the EU council are appointed not elected.
Merkal and her ‘class’ are elected but they also can control the vote counters. It makes for a lot on accountability all around. On the other hand when the local police finally say enough is enough it may be too late for all of them.
