I watched both my parents die of lung cancer caught to late.

Amen, prayer is the right thing to ask for! God hears, and rest assured that this is no surprise to him. He can heal you. However, If Jesus Christ, your God in Chief, calls you to formation, make sure you acknowledge that you are a sinner deserving of judgment. But you know that Jesus Himself took the bullet that you deserved on the cross. Because of what he did, you can be forgiven an get to heaven!
