Adriana Cohen: Ted Cruz calls out media bias
Boston Herald ^ | Thursday, October 29, 2015 | Adriana Cohen

HEAR, HEAR: From left, Carly Fiorina, Ted Cruz, Chris Christie and Rand Paul are among the candidates in last night's GOP presidential debate, during which Cruz took issue with media treatment of the candidates.

Hillary Clinton’s coronation by a “fawning” media salivating over her Oval Office ambition has finally taken a hit, thanks to Ted Cruz.

Cancel the new dishes for the White House makeover. Cruz just smashed the china when he blasted CNBC moderator John Harwood last night for his left-leaning questions.

Harwood would never speak that way to Hillary — who’s never run a billion-dollar empire, earned the presidential Medal of Freedom or separated Siamese twins.

Cruz fired away, to loud applause.

“The questions that have been asked so far in this debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media,” he told the CNBC panel.

“This is not a cage match. And you look at the questions: Donald Trump, are you a comic-book villain? Ben Carson, can you do math? John Kasich, will you insult two people over here? Marco Rubio, why don’t you resign? Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?

“How about talking about the substantive issues people care about?” he said. Again to a round of applause.

“I’m not finished yet. The contrast with the Democratic debate where every fawning question from the media was, ‘Which of you is more handsome and wise?’

“And let me be clear,” Cruz added. “The men and women on this stage have more ideas, more experience, more common sense than every participant in the Democratic debate.

“That debate reflected a debate between the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks,” he said. “And nobody watching at home believes that any of the moderators have any intention of voting in a Republican primary.”

Take that, moderators. The biased journalists can try to sell the uninformed about what wonderful days we’ll all live in another Democratic administration. But Cruz saw to it that voters won’t be fooled this time.

Fellow CNBC moderator Carl Quintanilla even insulted Rubio by telling him, “you’re young ... why not slow down.” I don’t remember anyone saying that to Sen. Barack Obama.

CNBC has no business hosting any future debate.

Every question was nothing more than an insulting personal attack with a question mark at the end.

I’m still glowing from the Cruz takedown of the moderators. Finally Cruz make get some of the attention he so well deserves.

That's precisely what it was. It was good to see Ted take those rotten creeps on and beat them up bad. Let the other Republicans learn from Trump and Cruz -- you don't win by letting the media push you around and trying to appease them. They are the enemy.

CNBC never had any business hosting a Republican Debate. I am at a loss to understand why it is the members of our party have not gone scorched earth war against these f***ing Urban Liberal Democrat Union goons who work in the media.

The Liberal control of the media is the NUMBER ONE PROBLEM the nation faces. All the other SH*T we have been dealing with is the consequence of that one fact.

The liberal media gets these sonofb*tches elected because they skew the information they report into favoring their party. They do even more damage by refusing to report things that are damaging to democrats.

Had a critical media gone after Obama in 2008, he would not be President, he would be a political greasy spot where a candidate once stood. None of his past would stand up to scrutiny, he had no experience of any worth, had they attacked him in the manner they did George Bush, he would have gone nowhere and he would have been a complete nothing, just as he so richly deserves to be.

The people who work in the media are our ENEMY. They are the ones we should be fighting, not ISIS. We need to destroy this domestic enemy before we worry about events elsewhere in the world. It is a consequence of this powerful domestic enemy that American interests in the rest of the world have been so badly degraded.

Again, our prime focus should be on eradicating liberal power over the information control systems. We need to take over broadcast, cable, satellite and internet services. These need to be ripped out of liberal hands, and then steps need to be taken to keep them forever out of liberal hands.

They are the enemy.

And I wish we could get our side to understand that they are the MAIN enemy. Stupid little Barry Obama didn't get himself elected. The media elected him by covering up his past and attacking his opponents.

We need to drop a nuke bomb on Liberal control of the media. We need to fight it with everything we do, and we need to prioritize our efforts to destroy them over every other consideration.

All our political losses are either a direct or indirect consequence of letting liberals monopolize the airwaves. We need to stop it.

Did CNBC really think they could get by with it? esp after the conservatives raised hell with Meg Kelly’s smarty and aggressive attitude at the FNC debate.

One brilliant freeper has a tagline which says, in effect, the only government efficiency of the Democrat ruling class is that they have their own state run media which they don’t even have to pay for. It is true.

Yes it is. That New York to Washington D.C. corridor is filled with Media/Democrat inbred propaganda soldiers. They are literally members of the same families.

The MSM also didn't ask Obama why he spent so little time in the Senate and was he, in fact, cheating the people of Illinois fir not really representing them in Washington, when that's what he was elected to do!

Dittos John Kerry, who spent even less time.

Since the idiots at RNC headquarters care so little about having our candidates actually exposed to a genuine debate, how about in the sham "debate" candidates just turn the tables and grill the so called journalists about their various statements, writings, backgrounds, education, what former spouses, family, friends say about THEM!

I’m watching it right now since I couldn’t watch it last night.

I haven’t hit that point yet but wow, Cruz is right. That was terible moderation. That was three moderators picking who they liked (Rubio and Kasich) and openly belittling and mocking every other participant.
