Based upon watching the video, my opinion is that the officer used excessive force. He flipped her backwards, chair and all, onto the floor and then threw her. What should he have done? Well, here are some ideas: (1) two adults could easily carry her, chair and all, out of the classroom, without resorting to any violence; (2) if an officer thinks physical force will be required against an unarmed person and there is no immediate physical danger to himself or others, why not call for backup before going WWE on her? I would fire this guy in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately, we'll all have to deal with the society your kind of thinking produces.

There's an uproar on the left about content and consequence of 'contact' with the police...police brutality, my good boy didn't need to die, they didn't need to taze him, arrest him, twist his arm, etc.

I truly do not care. It sounds like nothing so much as trying to negotiate workplace rules...and that kind of thinking is the problem.

This young angel is not a victim of police brutality. She's a victim of liberal thinking and policies. She was not born with an entitlement to be handled and coddled by the rest of the world.

All of us (who do not require the police to be called for simple requests) have our lives to live. She has already wasted too much of it. She's not a victim.

Carry her chair and all? And when she threw her arms out onto the door frame to stop them from taking her out of the class and she broke her arm and was dropped by the 2 adults you would now have 2 fired people.

Call for back up? yeah that will get expensive fast.

There is no clean way to extricate a defiant person from any situation. It will always look bad. Sheriffs and Police try to hire big muscular people or encourage them to muscle up as part of their job duties. It will always look rough and bad. But this student brought it on herself. I've been kicked out of class before. I left after asking: "Are you serious?" and the teacher said, "yes go to the office" or she said, "yes get out". Nobody else got involved and guess what we had no cop at school because all the other students were of similar mind.
