Dr. Ben Carson says Trump's attacks are not worth his time

Despite Donald Trump’s attacks on Ben Carson regarding his surge in the polls in Iowa, the retired neurosurgeon says the comments are not "worth my time." Carson does not intend to attack the real-estate mogul. Well, at least not yet.

“I don’t pay attention to that type of stuff, I really don’t. I really got beyond the mudslinging, the mud pit and fighting and calling each other names,” Carson said at a town hall at a fraternity house this morning in Iowa. "I got over that so long ago.”

Saying he doesn’t take the attacks from Trump personally -- the real estate mogul said he was "super low-energy" -- Carson emphasized there are more important issues to be discussing during his campaign.

"I don't take it personally," Carson said. "Again I say let's move onto important issues. That isn't even worth my time."

Trump went through the polls yesterday -– the ones that showed him with a commanding lead –- trying to justify his stance as the frontrunner.

He said he loves Iowa but “honestly think the polls are wrong."

When asked, Carson did say he does not believe the Iowa polls are wrong like Donald Trump has suggested since his lead slipped in the state.

“No I don't think so. But you know like I said before it's a marathon it's not a sprint polls will go up and down over the next year,” he said. "No one should be terribly alarmed and no one should be really excited it's just steady as you go and keep with your message."

Carson said he wasn't surprised to be leading Trump, but did conceded he was slightly surprised to see the numbers were so high.

Trump has been going just about non-stop since he got in. I can only imagine what he would be able to accomplish as President, with his drive. Amazing. It would be amazing!

Ben's cool.

He'd just like to get together with Trump and "hammer" a few things out.

Thanks to the Great Depression II we’ve been in for the past eight years, an enormous number of Americans are now dependent on the government for their livelihoods.

In 2012, Mitt Romney despaired that 47% of voters would not vote for him because they were too dependent on government hand-outs to vote for a Republican.

It’s worse now.

So what should the Republicans do?

Since the majority of Americans now depend on the kindness of the government, then Republicans should choose a kind nominee for president, such as Ben Carson.

Choosing a consistently mean-spirited, anti-Hispanic, anti-immigrant, anti-woman, anti-Ben-Carson nominee like Donald Trump is a formula for doom.

The Republicans of Iowa are starting to realize this. When will the rest of us?

So Ben if we give you the nomination you will just ignore the constant attacks that the dem-wits and the media you will get? That did not work for the last guy. I want a nominee who will take it to the media and dems and it does not sound like you would.

Trump should cut out this childish name-calling crap and stick to the issues.

Carson, IMO, is being propped up by the GOP-E as the latest draw-off-Trump’s-support gambit and like the others, will fail.

When Trump pulls this stuff he looks like the schoolyard kids and their “Did So, Did Not” routines.

To sensible people, yes.

But to his vocal handful of supporters here, there is nothing to see.

Sounding VERY G W Bush there aren’t we Ben? GWB didn’t “lower himself” to answer the attacks that even that white board moron Tokyo Rove admits was a mistake.
