I wonder if there is a chance it could survive passing
over land and reconstitute over the Gulf?
Aren’t you glad Obama cut the deficit in half so that now we have a huge surplus in the lockbox and were just wondering what to do with it?
No chance it would survive passing over the mountains of Central Mexico.
But there's a TON of rain coming to Texas.
Considering that the illegal immigrants are the ones most likely to be safe and that the Mexican citizens living hundreds of miles from the United States will be the ones killed, I fail to understand your comment.
Nothing to understand besides simple racism.
Or, rather, that's MY interpretation even if that was not the intent.
Not to mention that an economic catastrophe will send throngs of migrants north.
Will this slow down the influx of illegals coming across the border for a day or two?
‘she insists that the flooding will start at anytime!’
Very heavy rainfall is projected for se Texas from a large low pressure front moving in which has nothing to do with the hurricane.
As a child I lived near Galveston. We had to evacuate on a couple of occasions (Allen and Alisha) and did precisely that: we stayed with relatives at higher ground north of Houston.
Do you live in the oceanfront part of Houston?
What the hell is wrong with some of you asking about the ‘influx of illegals’ and all the politics. People are likely going to die and there will be widespread damage. Can’t say a few nice words or a prayer for those to-be-impacted?
We are in Alvin a bit south of Houston. I have relatives in College Station and Temple so we’ve always got somewhere to go.
LOL. No, we are a bit south of Houston.
I'm putting out buckets now! I lack rain gutters, but have a large cistern under my yard that I just got done pumping out (took 2 days!). The bayou by me, Braes Bayou, is expected to top out.
But there’s a TON of rain coming to Texas.”
They have been forcasting lots of rain for our area and so I haven’t run the sprinkler system all week. Nary a drop thus far!
“EF5 Tornado that’s 60 miles across..”
Not what NOAA is reporting.
“”At this time, the category 5 winds are occurring over a very
small area near the center - about 15 miles across.””
“Very heavy rainfall is projected for se Texas from a large low pressure front moving in which has nothing to do with the hurricane.”
Correct, a different system. But will feed off some of Patricia’s moisture. Not gonna be a hurricane, but will be a real toad floater.
Yes, that is VERY cool... thanks for sharing!
One oddity, to point out... when I select pressure, there is a tremendous low over Alaska... but where the hurricane is, it does not register (I think I heard it was about 880 mb). Oh well, probably the center is too tiny in the grand scheme of things to show up. The circulation of pressure is depicted though.
“F*** all the wetbacks.”
They ain’t wetbacks if they are still in Mexico.
