Obama vetoes defense policy bill over spending fight [Holding the Military Hostage]

President Barack Obama on Thursday vetoed the annual defense policy bill that includes troop pay and benefits – as well as historic personnel reforms – making good on a promise to oppose Republicans on spending.

The White House said the GOP used an irresponsible gimmick when it tapped an overseas war fund to sidestep a cap of defense spending. The National Defense Authorization Act will now go back to Congress, where Republicans will likely attempt to rally enough votes to override Obama’s veto.

The move throws the Defense Department budget into uncertainty and Congress will need to find a solution to the impasse by the time a temporary budget expires Dec. 11 or active-duty pay will be frozen and about 350,000 civilian DOD workers will face furloughs.

Defense spending? Why didn’t they attach it to something Obama cares about?

He wants to close Gitmo and give the base to Cuba. And when that happens, it will be turned into a Russian Base.

While our enemies salivate and calculate.

And, our military and their families wonder just who they are supposed to defend.

Here’s how it (government budgeting) is supposed to work: Congress sets spending priorities. If Congress doesn’t have enough votes to override presidential vetoes, Congress must compromise with the president. The president gets some of what he (or she) wants, and Congress gets some of what they want. Neither party is entirely satisfied with the results, but both can at least point to something their respective bases want.

This is what we appear to have instead: The president declares he will veto anything that doesn’t give him exactly what he wants. Congress surrenders. Instead of a budget, we get a series of continuing resolutions that change nothing. Republicans gain majorities in the House and Senate but have zero to show for it as nothing changes—funding wise—for the president.

Hence Trump.

“The National Defense Authorization Act will now go back to Congress, where Republicans will likely attempt to rally enough votes to override Obama’s veto.”

In Rino world this means “give Obama and Democrats what they want”.

Timed the veto to correspond with the Hillary hearing. Guess which one is going to garner the most media coverage.

President Obama exercised his veto power Thursday for just the fifth time in his presidency, rejecting a defense authorization bill because of the way it would sidestep budget limitations for the military and because it would restrict the transfer of detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay.

Closing Gitmo is the issue.

Puhlease! The Sheeple have been conditioned to blame the Republicans whenever anything goes wrong. There’s another leg down coming in this economy (Mainly due to technology and demographics) that Obama has to blame on the Republicans.
See CAT.
