Okay so there are no conservatives in Vermont. I knew it.
Most of them are under the dirt.
But even going back to the Depression, VT was pretty much an FDR state.
People see the gun laws and the farmers and they think they are conservatives. I would say, from my experience—which was out of the Burlington/Stowe area, and deep in farm country they are pretty much libertarian. They do not put a lot of thought into who is President because over the time they have been a state it has not mattered.
Since the 70’s the NY and CT folks have come up and bought up their summer places or ski places. They have turned it into a Socialist nirvana.
