In the first hand accounts I’ve read he was taken directly to the hospital and was not “abused” in the street.
The photos we have seen (and I hope NOT to see again) definitely show he was at least mishandled.
He was pretty messed up in the fire.
And he was dead for quite a while. Lividity is a nasty thing.
