Just a question of the lot of you, were any of you of voting age during the Reagan years? I was, and I tell you, in every meaningful way, the “amiable dunce” and the “clown” are uncannily alike; only their personalities are different.
I’m old enough to remember pontificating that ‘America doesn’t elect extremists’. I did vote for him though.
Oh, I remember. Yes I do. The GOPe hated Reagan. I could barely keep throwing up when all those RINOs who hated Reagan showed up at his funeral. Trump and Reagan demonstrate a similar ability to communicate to the people. And both had the ability to make totalitarians (Both RAT and RINO) heads explode. And both had obvious contempt for the media though Reagan was more polite about it.

I also remember the "surprised media" when he won 49 states.
One of the differences though was Reagan had been a conservative for a long time before he ran for POTUS. Trump is an overnight conversion and family members are still close to the Clintons, among other Rats.
Reagan was a rare POTUS. He brought us back from the carter "malaise" and destroyed the USSR ending the threat of global thermal nuclear war. Trump does have a lot of the same qualities, especially toughness and belief in himself.
