I thought the same thing when I first heard this. It sounded intemperate. But then I started thinking about our long standing failure to deal with our immigration problems. Its not stupid to question our vulnerability.
There are millions of immigrants in this country and the government has no idea where they are or what they’re up to. I think this is at the heart of Trump’s statements. If effective immigration controls had been in place maybe the 911 terrorists would have been deterred from roaming around the country and making their nefarious plans. We’ll never really know for sure, but we shouldn’t have made it so easy for them to operate.
Trump would probably do a better job of securing our borders and monitoring those who enter the country.
Yes.

Exactly Trump’s point. I think along with torquing ¿Yeb’s? drawers, he’s showing us that the anointed GoPee “office holder, W” was asleep at the switch at the minimum, and a protector of the “FAT FREDDIES” in Saudi Arabia.
At least six of the 911 hijackers - all of the ringleaders - entered the US during the Presidency of B.J. Clinton. Where the hell does Trump get off trying to hang that on George Bush?
It’s worse than stupid, it’s despicable. Bush’s immigration policies had nothin to do with it. Trump is a complete jackass on this one.
Immigration from ‘friendly’ nations and people like the Saudis has not been a great benefit to the US. Six of the World Trade Center bombers were from ‘friendly’ Saudi Arabia. I often think back to the early days of the US when Jefferson gave notice to the hoods at Tripoli to keep their hands off of US shipping.
