Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is said to have been hit by a demand for spousal support by her estranged husband Ryan Sweeting. The move comes after the starlet, who is worth an estimated $45 million, filed to divorce the professional tennis player last month. It has been claimed she decided to leave the athlete after he became addicted to painkillers prescribed to him after back surgery.

The article says they have a pre-nup. Contract lawyers will sort it out.

I noticed she’s described as a “starlet” rather than a “star.” I wonder what the distinguishing factor is. She’s not a “new face, but has been a steadily-working actress since she was about 6. She’s not a youngster anymore. She’s appearing in a long-running “sophisticated” comedy series, not soaps.

Is it being a tv rather than movie performer?

Alimony for celebrity spouses is a lot like retirement benefits for Congress. All you need to do is put in a little time and you get great benefits for the rest of your life.

When there are children involved, I get it. I think that they should be provided for big time. But this spouse of Cuoco? How long were they married? A year or so and he should get millions? It doesn't seem right to me. And I would say the same thing if he had been the wealthier one.

California is a great state to be a tennis bum.

I don’t believe pain killer addiction is a reasonable justification for divorce.

I think the fact that it’s an article from a UK tabloid explains the use of the term starlet. I don’t think many US press outlets would ever employ that term.

She always looked like the kind of girl you'd take home to meet Mom....if you could only trust Dad.

Boob job and short hair, why?

Hollywood stars just can't help themselves I guess.

We’re missing the most important point here:
She’s available again!

"Bet the marriage went downhill after she cut her hair."

Sort of a pity she's letting it grow again. She looked more adult and serious. If your character is selling zombie drugs, anti raccoon rabies pallatives and $1000 per pill placebos to doctors, you really should look businesslike.

Yep, the guy woke up every morning thinking someone's little brother was next to them. Things that will severely narrow a girl's chances of getting a guy....

Pixie haircuts
Tattoos
Piercings
cigarettes
