This country selectively “enforces” whatever laws they want. Take drugs, illegal immigration, child prostitution, and all the white collar crimes politicians commit and get the wink & a nod.

I’m wondering when all the state-legal pot people will be suddenly and violently reminded that the _Raich_ verdict is still in effect (upheld federal dynamic raids on state-legal doctor-monitored personal-use pot growing, on the premise that _decreasing_ demand in _illegal_ interstate commerce satisfied the “interstate commerce” clause [ab]used for prohibition).

I believe the pro-gun side hides mindlessly behind “shall not be infringed” while the anti-gun side works to narrowly define “right of the people to keep and bear arms” so that there is no infringement.

Methinks it’s a misdemeanor; check NY law section 400. Of course that includes punishment _up_to_ one year in prison, which is a pretty severe penalty for lacking paperwork for mere possession of something lawfully acquired.

The Second Amendment PROTECTS that PRE-EXISTING RIGHT from government infringement. The Bill of Rights does not GRANT rights to Americans, it PROTECTS EXISTING rights from government interference.

I believe that the anti-gunners have been trying to expunge the meaning of the word “infringe” so that they, and they alone, get to determine what is acceptable infringement.
