If all humans were required to pass Financial Accounting 101 there would be no socialists/communists.

The Federal Reserve system would not be a private bank either.

I went out to Walmart this week, browsed the computers, selected one and came home and purchased it on-line...but from a company based in the south which has not banned the sale of confederate merchandise. I don’t fly the flag but I deeply resent any corporation attempting to affect my right to honor my heritage in a peaceful manner. Guess what? There are hundreds of thousands of us who may very well feel the same way. In fact, Walmart has gotten rich off the working men and women of the rural south...their major demographic target...what sheer stupidity for Walmart’s CEO to put his dog in that fight.

Shrinking profits at WM doesn’t scare libtards...

It makes pee in their pants with joy...

Liberals don’t care if low skilled workers gain a “living wage” as “rich” stock holders suffer. If it continues long enough, Wal-Mart will eventually fold and there goes 1.4 mil. jobs

Walmart has generally been a place you could get a job if you needed one. As Walmart is forced to shrink its staff ( and start closing some stores) , it will be less and less of a “hiring hall”. More people will wind up on welfare. Congratulations to the politicians who keep destroying employment opportunities ( of almost all types and levels)

When the box stores drop out of the economy, the ripple effect will affect the manufacturers that supply them. For instance, if Walmart were to start closing stores, a manufacturer like Hamilton Beach would have to find other outlets to sell their products. The online market is one of them. If someone has to drive 50 miles to purchase that Big Mouth® Deluxe 14 Cup Food Processor with French Fry Blade, they would be inclined to buy one online. Many products need to be seen before purchase and that convenience will be denied the box store shopper. The online competition may squeeze Hamilton Beach out of the market with better online marketing.

Walmart’s prices have been a-jumpin’ even before its upocming hourly wage boosts. An example, Banquet frozen dinners (not a fave but a good example because of its price jump) went from $1.00 to $1.18 in one jump, an easy-to-compute 18%.

“I suppose the natural thing to do is raise prices, but then they’d probably lose revenue because low prices is the only conceivable reason people shop there.”

Well, they are also going to freshen their stores and go “upscale” (well, upscale for WM, anyway) - which, given the size/number of them, is a multi-billion dollar project - that money will come from somewhere. Guess where. Hint: Not the shareholders.

I saw a study that WM may have been responsible for the boom times of the 90’s, because they forced prices down from their suppliers and kept wages low - and with their leadership role in the market, this may have been worth a measurable part of US GDP. It works the other way too, though.

I read it being specifically verboten: right of Contract.

Not that govt allowed the Constitution to get in their way on any topic; nor the brain-dead electorate that ALLOWS said govt to get away...

Often, Walmart doesn’t have the lowest prices anymore. If you shop around, you can find better deals elsewhere. Aldi is biting into their business too.

What happened to the New York Times? It took just a little over one generation for the paper to go all socialist.

Yeah, weren't they pro-Nazi?

Many say, good, lose the box stores. Ever see what happens to a shopping mall when the anchor stores leave. We have a few around here that did lose their anchors (Sears pulled out of one), and they fell fast, within a few years became ghost towns....

” UPS drivers and they know my dog’s name. She does not even get that excited when they come up our long driveway - just comes over to get her dog biscuit.”

If something every happens to my wife, the CEO’s of UPS and Amazon will jump out of windows.

Yep, I noticed Wolf Chili (which isn’t bad for canned) went from $1.00 this time last year to $1.98 now.

You see, there was this goose, that nested in a hollow tree. One day a woodman found its nest. Lo and behold, the goose had laid golden eggs!

Then his idiot brother in law had this great idea...
