100% here, 2% there.

100% of AFDC, WIC, TANF ....

0% of USN, USMC, USA, USAF ...

His name is pretty evenly cursed by the entire political spectrum.

Since the "entire political spectrum" has spent the last 20 years (at least) vastly expanding the size, scope, and power of government ... I just don't see that as a problem.

He might want the change of scenery

Does he like mountains? We can sure use a replacement for that scumbag Earl Ray ... Scumbag Senator Munchkin is up for reelection in 2018 ... How does Sen. Jindal (R-WV) sound?

“Trump has a lock on the Deep South. He resonates with them.”

It is because he is convincing in his claim that he will actually DO something. He also acts like a man, not some poodle in a suit. He is also proud of his place and his roots and that is something we understand and respect. We do not trust anyone who isn’t.

He fights. He hits back. The others yip and whine. Damn right he resonates in the South.

We are not electing a pastor. We are electing a president for a sick and crumbling nation that is falling apart, and the hour is late. We have had a quarter century of bad presidents who put globalism first and America and Americans some place after that. We are willing to gamble on the devil we don’t know.

Very well said and deserves repeating!

It works for me. He would be a better senator than an executive, that is for sure. He has his strengths and I’ve never said otherwise.

If it was up to the two of us we’d have a deal.

I don’t think so. Apparently they can go outside, however, I don’t know how that works going forward. Odd, though, the #3 position in line of succession can be from outside of Congress.

Trump hates rednecks and the Confederate flag. He’s made that abundantly clear.

I can name 25 anti South bigots right here on Free Republic. It is nothing new.

Trump resonates with the Southern spirit. Trump will soon learn who AND WHERE his friends are.

Trump is the anti establishment bulldozer. He will crush some things I may like but it's a price we will have to pay for backsliding into the collective gloBULList pit we are in.

“Why is Cruz being ignored by the media??? “
______________________________________________________________________________

You nailed it! Cruz has rarely been seen on the Sunday talk shows. Even Fox News, where you would expect him to get some exposure, marginalizes him and seems to have been pushing Jeb while giving Trump maximum air-time. Is it possible that Cruz has been biding his time, avoiding media over exposure and peaking too early? More likely, the money brokers are afraid of Cruz and what he represents, power restructuring in the GOPe and DC.
