Webb is a throwback to Democrat patriots, a wing that’s nearly extinct. One of the great tragedies for America has been the conquest of the Democrat party by the hard left.
I suspect that for ‘Born Fighting’ James Webb borrowed heavily from David Hackett Fischer’s Albion’s Seed.
I think in his book he acknowledges “The Steel Bonnets: The Story of the Anglo-Scottish Border Reivers.”
