No president can do things for you that you aren’t willing to do for yourselves. Not Obama, not Trump, not any candidate.

There’s only one Savior, and it’s Jesus Christ.

Too bad folks have such little faith in themselves that they have to place it in our leaders - to be perpetually disappointed.

What you say in post 3 is all so true yet look at the damage Barry has caused. Wise leadership is very important and Americans are starved of it. BIGTIME...

The man voted for Obama TWICE. I would have thought once would have been more than enough.

So many black people voted for Obama because they were so excited about having the “first black president.” But they didn't bother to look into his background. They had to find out the hard way.

Sadly, he still has support among the black community. When I ask his supporters just what has Obama done for them, they really have no answer other than maybe Obamacare. And they are slowly finding out that Obamacare wasn't what they thought it would be. But if Obama told them to jump off a cliff, they would do it. They are just so blind.

re: voting for Obama twice

This man is from the segment of the population Romney REFUSED to campaign to. Blame Romney, totally.

If Black people, or anybody else, put their hopes for success on the hopes of Trump getting elected, they will fail just like they failed under Obama. They themselves have to make their lives...no elected leader can do it for them.

People don't have confidence in themselves because they have been told over and over again, “you didn't build that” or words to that effect.

Leaders like President Reagan recognize and understand American ingenuity and exceptionalism. He believed that we could do great things and he reminded us all the time that we had. We need another leader like Ronald Reagan — someone who will get us to believe in ourselves again.

“first black president.”

Now that first is ruined for everyone, black and white alike.

Actually, Romney didn't campaign to a large chunk of the US, not just to back people. I live in PA and he didn't come anywhere near my neck of the woods. We didn't even see very many TV ads in his favor. All we hot were the Bain Capital attack ads.

Good rant. HOORAY American. They’ve all failed us bro…UNaccountable bureaucrats (socialists) looting the republic, relegating us to debt slavery...

150 billion?? try this

http://www.usdebtclock.org

6. But the grand nostrum will be a public debt, provided enough of it can be got and it be medicated with the proper ingredients. If by good fortune a debt be ready at hand, the most is to be made of it. Stretch it and swell it to the utmost the items will bear. Allow as many extra claims as decency will permit. Assume all the debts of your neighbors - in a word, get as much debt as can be raked and scraped together, and when you have got all you can, “advertise” for more, and have the debt made as big as possible. This object being accomplished, the next will be to make it as perpetual as possible; and the next to that, to get it into as few hands as possible. The more effectually to bring this about, modify the debt, complicate it, divide it, subdivide it, subtract it, postpone it, let there be one-third of two-thirds, and two-thirds of one-third, and two-thirds of two-thirds; let there be 3 percents, and 4 percents, and 6 percents, and present 6 percents, and future 6 percents. To be brief, let the whole be such a mystery that a few only can understand it; and let all possible opportunities and informations fall in the way of these few to cinch their advantages over the many.

7. It must not be forgotten that the members of the legislative body are to have a deep stake in the game. This is an essential point, and happily is attended with no difficulty. A sufficient number, properly disposed, can alternately legislate and speculate, and speculate and legislate, and buy and sell, and sell and buy, until a due portion of the property of their constituents has passed into their hands

5. Review all the civil contests, convulsions, factions, broils, squabbles, bickering, black eyes, and bloody noses of ancient, middle, and modern ages; caricature them into the most frightful forms and colors that can be imagined, and unfold one scene of horrible tragedy after another till the people be made, if possible, to tremble at their own shadows. Let the discourses on Davila then contrast with these pictures of terror the quiet hereditary succession, the reverence claimed by birth and nobility, and the fascinating influence of stars, and ribands, and garters…

Are you too young to remember late 70s and 1980 election? We were damaged as a people by Carter. Told my daughter bambi would make Carter look like Maggie Thatcher. I had no idea he would be worse. Maybe someone else can better describe the mass feeling of shame at where our country was. We are in a very similar place now.
We were rewarded with immediate release of Iranian hostages on Reagan’s election.

There are things leaders can do to assist those who desire to be self-sufficient, by providing the correct environment to be such, for example. They also have the capability of thwarting efforts at success by forcing providers to share their hard work & endeavors with others that contribute nothing. They can also make regulations that provide preferences to certain groups over other groups. While a few may overcome regardless of obstacles placed before them, many will not. Lastly, my observations lead me to believe, that religious belief has very little impact in terms of financial success for the majority of these people. I see wicked people amassing greats sums of wealth, think Soros for example, while those who appear to be stalwarts of piety suffer tremendously.

I agree that Jesus has paved the path for salvation, but ones salvation is still depended upon them.

YOU!!! are responsible for making your own life. Carter was a disaster, but nobody can use Carter as an excuse for ruining their own lives. If Carter ruined someone’s personal life, it was meant to be ruined.
