Who Will Qualify for the Next Republican Debate?
Wall Street Journal ^ | 10/7/2015

Posted on 10/11/2015 4:56:20 PM PDT by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

CNBC will use an average of support in polls to determine which Republican presidential candidates will qualify for the main stage at the next debate on Oct. 28. The network will consider polls sponsored by six media organizations released between Sept. 17 and Oct. 21. CNBC has declared a cutoff of 3% but has said any candidate with 2.5% or higher will be rounded up to 3%.

My reasoning on establishment is he is owned...he got monies from handlers to run as Senator, they asked for favors he gave them...that’s how it works...he is running as a candidate, he is already owned so now he’s owned more...will he get the nomination? NO....

Trump is the only one that is running his own campaign and he answers to no one...that’s what I like about him, he’s his own man and can say and do what he wants...I like that in a leader, to bad we haven’t had it in years....maybe if we would have, there wouldn’t be this huge push to get Trump in the White House, but all you have is yes people or ‘people with a pen and a phone’ like that is important....any executive action can be redone when the next president goes into office and THAT is why it’s so important to have Trump.....To Save America....

I’m not be mean, I’m just explaining how I feel...sure I can take the shots, doesn’t bother me because my mind is set...Trump is my man....

Really? Oh my, I didn’t know that! Who were the handlers, and what favors did they ask of him? Please tell me.

Lord, I’ve been indoctrinated by propaganda. Limbaugh and Levin both said that this guy Cruz was the most principled conservative in America!!! Can you believe that???

Please, tell me more how those idiots are so deluded, but you, Harley Lady, have discerned that Cruz is on the take.

And please tell me how the Establishment, you know McConnell and Boehner types, got their hooks into him.

What a sly one that Cruz is... here he attacks all of them in his party— but, it’s really all a canard! He’s one of them. Who knew?

Basically, I gather that your argument is that Trump isn’t answerable to anyone. Fair enough.

Would your argument extend to liking the candidate who gets the most money from small donors? You don’t like big donors having free speech or influence — fine. But if Trump isn’t answerable to anyone, isn’t that also a problem? People out here in the trenches of Republican politics, like we here in Virginia who worked our butts off to elect Dave Brat over Eric Cantor - don’t these hard-working grassroots party people deserve a candidate who is answerable to *them?* There are real people in every community who work for the GOP, and they’re good people. A lot of the new recruits are from the Tea Party, and they don’t all follow the Trump train.

If Donald Trump is awesome because he’s answerable to no one, does that extend to the people or to the Constitution? I think it could.

All you’ve said about Trump is fine and dandy, but we’re not electing a king. I really want my congressman to represent me, and to be able to do it without unlawful executive overreach. If Trump is able to work with Congress - great. But I have serious qualms about him respecting the Constitution or anything greater than himself.

He’s a deal maker, sure. But some of his MLM businesses were downright shady and hurt a lot of people. He also has donated heavily to Democrats in the past, including Anthony Weiner, who were happy to pass Obamacare.

And as for “better health care for the poeple” — mercy. From a conservative standpoint, that is a job for people and their doctors to decide. I don’t know how old you are, but I am a firm believer, and agree with Ronald Reagan, that the federal government should be out of our health care. The constitution clearly says that the powers not enumerated are matters for the “states or the people” to decide.

Therefore, I like two candidates - Ted Cruz and Ben Carson, because they are my Tea Party kin when it comes to at least saying they support Constitutional ideals. I’ve been following Ted Cruz ever since his primary, and he’s impressed me the most.

Where was Donald Trump on Obamacare when I was out standing in the cold with my sign? Where was he when the grassroots were out trying desperately to get it stopped? Where was he when the Tea Party was upset about the bailouts and government spending? Where was he when they were being maligned as terrorists and racists? Answer: nowhere to be seen.

“This is so tiresome! How about the top 5 candidates. Send the rest home. They are toast anyway.”

It's called “The Dance of the Organ Grinders Monkeys!” Any of them that are under 5% (and I'm being charitable) should be left out. Particularly that insufferable Linda Graham!

That would suggest we get rid of Pataki, Graham, Jindal, Santorum, and maybe Huckabee and Christie. That sounds like more or less a good start. I despise Christie, but I like keeping him around to split the RINO establishment vote with Jeb. For now, Paul looks like he stays.

With Trump, Carson, Rubio, Fiorino, Bush, Cruz, Kasich, and Paul, we still won’t get to hear any one candidate (except Trump and Bush) as much as we should, but it’s still a huge improvement. If they bump Huckabee and Christie up to keep them around, the debate will be far too crowded again.

Sigh. And this. All that complaining about executive overreach, all that caring about the Constitution.

And it's now ok. All that stuff about principles - ha! We were all just kidding.

Why did I waste four years getting involved in my local Tea Party? I honestly was duped into thinking that the people there really cared about the Constitution, I guess.

And all those years Rafael Cruz taught his son the Constitution - I guess that was just a big leadup to getting donor money from shady, "establishment" people who can't even be named, they're so in the shadows.

Johnnie, the same advice should apply to those who spend endless hours trashing states they don’t like with all this invective. Example: “God washing California into the Pacific,” and the like. The might be better served by telling us all how good things are where they are and why, but also realizing that there isn’t a state in the union that’s in really good shape today! In reality, there are just bad states and not so good states. After all the “not so good states” are sending RINOs to the Congress! Can you say Cornyn, Texas? Can you say McConnell, Kentucky? I could go on, but you get the idea.

$26M from regular folks... average $66.00

PACS

Robert Mercer- $11M - Former IBM Exec- Hedge Fund

Neugebauer— $10M - Private Equity Firm

Wilks Brothers 15M Oil Family

The PACS are managed by David Barton, who I believe is founder of “Christian Nation”..

Are you talking about Trump or Cruz?

Trump announced he was running for President in June of this year, before this he was a business man...what was he suppose to do with obamacare? The better question is: what did WE do about obamacare? He had it into law his first term so who put obuma in the second term? I didn't, did you? Or is that another ‘I didn't vote for Clinton, well if no one voted for Clinton, how did he get back into office?’....

Cruz has super pacs (handlers) campaign money...and when they give money to support someone, they in return ask for ‘favors’ don't they? So why, knowing this is how it works, would you want to vote for someone who has money backing from super pacs running for President, it's bad enough to have them running the Senate and the House...and has been terrible having these people supporting Presidents....

Trump isn't owned, that is true, but he will follow the law, he has done his whole life, what makes you think he won't when he gets into the White House? Someone tell you he won't? If anyone is acting like a King, we have him in office right now...

And Trump said again in his speech in Georgia that all money he receives he gives to charity, so that's good enough for me...I have to trust somebody so why not, in my mind, support the one that makes the most sense, and to me that is Trump....

ny executive action can be redone when the next president goes into office and THAT is why it’s so important to have Trump

Does that mean that Obama's first EO number 0001 relating to his records is cancelled....? ,,,and all his records will then be available

Sound like another reason to vote for Trump.

What big money? Most of his money comes from small donors.
