You mean after Greece tried to force the independent republic of Cyprus to unite with Greece?
I agree in part, but wasn’t Turkey very important to the U.S during the Reagan administration?
Also, Cyprus, another remnant of European adventurism. Look at it on the map. It’s so far removed from Greece and Western Europe and within a zone of Islamic influence. It must have some huge strategic value to the West.
