Under Reagan’s 600 ship navy, there were to be 17 carriers, 4 battleships, 42 cruisers, 89 attack submarines, and 36 ballistic missile subs. Probably the only area of improvement has been with the amphibs; other than that, the Bushes, Clintons and Obama have gutted the navy.
