RomneyCARE Jr. is NOT acceptable to conservatives.
Why not just make Bishop RomneyCARE the Speaker?

Anything to stop a real conservative from becoming speaker.
I have no doubt that the GOP establishment would vote for Nancy Pelosi before they would vote for a real conservative.

Ryan chairs the extremely powerful Ways and Means Committee. He would probably be foolish to give that up.

Ryan waivers in his stand to not run or speaker.
FReep mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.

I am not thrilled with Ryan since 2012, but we could do worse. He’s a good communicator and known entity. He’s an idea guy, as opposed to Boehner and McCarthy who are just party hacks. We could do better, but we could do a lot worse too.

Ryan could easily be the best selection for Speaker.
He’ll get great support from the Tea Party and the GOPe, but will be much more conservative than Chaffetz or Webster.
Don’t bother listing your gripes about his various positions.
As Speaker Ryan will be free to be his own man, and will prove to be more conservative than anybody else WHO COULD HAVE BEEN ELECTED.

He actually did not do well against Crazy Uncle Joe in the
Debates as I saw it. But, yes, he’s a small step up from Boehner.

I have no doubt that the GOP establishment would vote for Nancy Pelosi before they would vote for a real conservative.
Considering the political demise of Cantor and Boehner and now McCarthy, those of the GOP Establishment should have sense enough to know better. If they support Pelosi, they will face a raging mad electorate in about 1 year.
Surely, they are not that stupid -- but they are known as the Party of Stupid -- so one never knows.

Eric Cantor: Primary loss to the Tea Party.
Kevin McCarthy: Loss of the Speakership to the Tea Party, while trying to follow John Boner, run out of the Speakership by the Tea Party.
Paul Ryan: Do you really want to try this? Are you confident in your conservative bona fides?
I don't think so.

I do think that Ryan, if he goes back to his roots, can be a good compromise candidate. But here is the deal. If he leaves the ways and means committee, which is probably second in power to the speakership, who moves into the chairmanship of the ways and means committee? That needs to be part of the deal if Ryan is involved.

These GOPe hacks are desperate.
