A Sacramento mother is outraged over a Playmobil pirate ship set figurine that resembles an African American slave wearing a neck shackle.

Ida Lockett of Sacramento said her 5-year-old son received the toy as a birthday present. When she was helping him assemble it, she noticed the instructions told her to put a play shackle around the figure’s neck.

Exactly. They are just catering to the California crowd. The lady must be homophobic. She should seek diversity training.

Yo, Ida, ever see one of these? It should really drive you crazy:

A replica of the Saracen Personnel Carrier, during the arartheid days it was the workhorse of the South African Army. These vehicles were deployed during S Africa's involvement in the Namibian War, Soweto Uprising as well as thwarting many other anti-apartheid incidents. Even though the original company, Lesney Products & Co Ltd discontinued it 50 years ago, now that Mattel owns the Matchbox brand maybe some mea culpas on their part is in order.

It’s the culture of “I want my 15 minutes” on the Tube and now is my chance.

They can’t show Roots on TV anymore.

Showing Lavar Burton chained up like a slave is RACIST!

Yes, the loony left in the UK and Ireland, in a way, consider the old Saracens the moral equivalent of the Confederate flag, a symbol of oppression.

Does she want history whitewashed? There were slaves. Isn’t that what black people want to remind whites people about often? Let the kids play with it and free the poor captives. This toy isn’t for toddlers. Save it for kids who are 7 or older so y can give a history lesson with it.

It’s child abuse. The kid loved the birthday present, and the mother just took it away from him.

If you toss the slave with it, do we avoid all the BS we are dealing with these days?

Then the Playmobil sharks will swim the route the Playmobil ship takes for the next 200 years.

I know it's true. I heard it from a congressman.

I love those guys. Substitute teacher has me rolling on the floor every time I watch it. I take great delight in introducing that skit to teachers. Love to watch their faces break out in smiles then open gaffaws (sp) as they watch.
