German exports for the month of February have plummeted to their lowest level since 1950, following a similar decline in January. The drop means Europe's largest economy will contract more than expected.
According to the latest figures published on Wednesday by the Federal Statistics Office, exports fell 23.1 percent to just under 65 billion euros in February, compared to the same period last year. This follows a similarly precipitous drop of 23.2 percent in January.
The two-month decline is the worst since World War II. Imports also dropped 16.4 percent to 56.2 billion euros compared to a year ago.
The government has acknowledged that Europe's biggest economy will contract by more than the current forecast of 2.25 percent this year and possibly as much as seven percent.

Meanwhile imports of radical head chopping lunatics is up 7000%.
I want Germany to enter a recession, that might be the only thing that prevents more Muslim hordes being ‘um “welcomed”
A recession + too many Muslim hordes there already, hopefully = Merkel getting dumped and replaced by a patriotic German who’s number one aim is putting Germany and the German people first.
lol (morbid lol)
Maybe this will be the straw that breaks Angela’s back. Greece,imagination and falling Euro can’t.
The green agenda finally hits home. They went all in on windmills, solar, Yadda, Yadda, Yadda. Now industry is paying the price. Idiots. Not that we are that far behind them.
The West and the Refugees
Biggest decline was in exports to other European countries. The backwash from the other countries suffering under the Euro and ECB policies dictated from Frankfurt may be “coming home to roost”. The Germans may be finding that the privilege of being captain of the Vessel Euro is offset by being chained to the wheel.
China is in recession
After the Euro-fueled borrowing bonanza, Southern Europe is all tapped out.
The US is in a permanent recession since 2008.
In addition, the other BRICS (especially Russia) are also in recession.
The Germans have nowhere left to send their goods.
It’s hard to keep the vessel moving when your own policies keep holing the boat.
In addition, the German people are now facing the following electoral choices:
a) CDU/CSU: more refugees
b) SPD: more refugees;
c) Greens: more refugees;
d) Neo-Nazis: no more refugees
My guess is (d) will begin to garner a significant plurality shortly.
She is destroying the political stability of both Europe and the Germany at the same time.
All true but their biggest problem is they are not competitive due to high manufacturing costs especially energy. The US is actually doing quite well with industrial exports despite all of the hysteria you hear on this forum.
I agree with D also, it’s inevitable.
