Mark Steyn, filling in for Rush, just said read a piece reporting that the missiles Putin was ‘delivering’ to Syria crashed in Iran. It appears to be referring to these Caspian Sea based, naval launched, cruise missiles. If so, major egg in Putin’s face.

That is a good point, “advertising campaign” for Russian cruise missiles. Now the missiles can be labeled “combat proven.”

Why the Russians chose to use the Caspian Sea flotilla to launch the attack is unclear.
1) It shows that Putin means deadly business against the ISIS-Obama Coalition ...
2) Soviet naval power on true display ... the U.S. Navy must be genuinely scared shitless over those "Corvets" launching those damned cruise missiles
3) To show the World that Putin uses deadly cruise missiles while the feckless Obama plays games with drones ...
Otherwise, known as "Geopolitical Checkmate on Steroids" ...
