One object—a notebook, a chair, anything—thrown at him coupled with a charge is way better than standing there and being a target.

Ever notice in the old Superman TV shows from the 50s that Superman lets the bullets bounce off him, but then ducks when the crook throws the empty gun at him?

That IS funny. It was also funny that ace reporter Lois Lane couldn't recognize Superman as Clark Kent (same voice, same build, same height, same hair style) simply because he took his glasses off.

My favorite Superman gun moment is where he grabs the crook’s revolver & crushes it in his fist. The crook’s moll faints dead away.

(the prop gun must have been made of licorice or something)

LOL. I never noticed that. But the gun was real. The bullets were special effects. So it’s good he ducked.
