By definition Political Correctness requires that ideology must supersede reality and self interest.
When major decisions of consequence are made using PC mind think reality asserts itself and bad things happen and it is in the self interest of everyone to change course to one based on reality.
However. adherents to PC mindset also allow PC to over ride their sense of self interest so they will ignore, deny and cover up the bad things and live with bad things their PC decision making has created and live with the cognitive dissonance of between their ideology and and actual world reality.
