his abrasiveness doesn’t help the cause

Spoken like a true GOPe wuss. They must have interviewed McConnell for that quote. It is actually hard to believe being "abrasive" isn't looked upon as a favorable trait for a politician.

Yeah, the media just eats it up when a ‘rat shows “abrasiveness”, only when they do it, they call it “moxie” or “chutzpa”.

Any Republican who isn’t a go-along-get-along squish for the democrats is abrasive in Washington. Reagan was abrasive in their jaded liberal eyes. Telling the truth makes you abrasive in their eyes. Keeping your word makes you abrasive in the eyes of liberals Republican and Democrat.

I’ll take abrasive any day over any current member of the Republican leadership and their supporters.
