I have seen this played out on the local Dothan TV station. The council member’s girlfriend was convicted of creating enough fraudulent absentee votes to keep Newsome in office.
I haven’t really kept up really close but no question that Newsome won re-election by the fake ballots.
Of course he should have resigned. On the other hand the reporter has been tenacious and I can see how irritating that could be.
Still the councilman is toast and for more than one reason.
I hope he sees prison.
