Along with a host of governmental agencies worldwide, they have shown themselves to either be dishonest or incompetent by their fudging of and/or reporting of faulty global temperature data to support the global warming scam.
To the extent the article is credible, any relief for the financially stressed populace would be most welcomed.

For me, there is better information in the price of energy. It is down from last year.
