I was in a mass shooting, and I would disagree.

I wirked at ESL when Richard Farley killed 7 of my co-workers.

He planned it. He rented an RV, filled it with ammunition and guns, and then drove to ESL and murdered my co-workers.

He was cold and cruel and I can’t imagine too many people doing that.

By the way, he had a top secret clearande when he worked for ESL. So a background check would not have prevented him from doing anything.

He was supposed to go to court that day to get a restraining order on him. Maybe somehow there could be a way of temporarily flagging someone because he had been fired from work and was following Laura Black. People knew he was crazy by then, but he was still able to purchase an RV full of guns and ammo

I have spent too many years working in and around police, fire, combat and combat support systems to think anything other than everyone that I have met has a point to which, if pushed, will not only push back, but will do so with extreme hostility.

I have met grandmothers that served with the OSS, I have shaken hands with SWAT and Delta force. I have interviewed prisoners who were normal until they were pushed. My experiences are perhaps unique, but I firmly believe that everyone -EVERYONE- has the capacity for being a savage. I further believe that it is only a very thin veneer of “civilization” that keeps the anger in check.

Sorry, I simply will have to disagree.
