Should we care if Kelly Ayotte is re-elected? (Nope!)

New Hampshire Republican Kelly Ayotte is facing a tough challenge from Governor Maggie Hassan. Polls show that the two are virtually tied. The question I need you to help me with is...should we care?

Polls have showed the popular Hassan running close with Ayotte in early matchups; Ayotte had a 3-point lead in an NBC News/Marist poll in early September. But Ayotte starts with a $5 million head start: The Republican will have raised $1.6 million in the third quarter, according to a campaign source. That's a slight uptick from the $1.4 million Ayotte raised in the second quarter.

"Unfortunately, Sen. Ayotte has stood with special interests," Hassan said. "She has voted to cut Pell grants for college students. She has voted to make Medicare a voucher system and to erode Social Security benefits. And she's voted to defund Planned Parenthood. She has stood with special interests rather than the people of New Hampshire. I'll put New Hampshire first, and that's what this campaign will be about."

If only. Ayotte may have well voted for these things in symbolic, standalone votes, but she never voted for these things when they mattered, when real budget bills or debt ceilings were being debated.

We must remove ANY senator who would support Mitch McConnell as republican leader of the senate (either majority or minority)!

Yes, if we can find someone better, do so. She caved on the Confederate Flag thing trying to appease a bunch of thugs. That does not bode well for her leadership skills.

Ayotte is one GOP-E backstabber I would like to see thrown out of office, even if it is a Rat that beats her.

Only problem, we have to find someone to primary her. Ayotte is toast. She was elected as a tea party favorite but vote with McCain.

I know, I know. But the fact she CLAIMS TO be Republican allows the GOP to be able to control the Senate committees and agendas. IF it were Mitch McConnell, I would say VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRAT. Ditto John Boehner. But that seat needs to be kept away from the Rats. Hassan sounds like a fire breathing leftist. Get Ayotte in a primary. New Hampshire was a great state before the freaks from Boston and New York invaded it.

One person, just one person who ascribes to the anti-establishment Trump message would be all it would take to primary another squish and stand in bold contrast to the Democrat Governor of a traditionally conservative state.

She ran as a conservative....first thing she did when she joined up with McCain and Graham! Throw her out.

I will vote against Ayott in the primary. If she is the candidate, I will not vote for either liberal bitch!

Finding a primary opponent for Ayotte is not actually necessary. Maggie Hassan is very popular in NH, and she has a great opportunity to defeat GOPe Ayotte. Likewise, Tammy Duckworth has a great chance to defeat GOPe’er Mark Kirk in Illinois.

I think 2016 is going to be a very, very bad cycle for GOPe McConnell/Boehner-supporting candidates. May they all go down to defeat!

Even Stevie Wonder could see this coming. Fools, they deserve it. However, if we get lucky and get Trump / Cruz nothing will get done without at least 51 in the Senate that has a leader other than the Turtle. We are so fubar'd....

You don’t want Hassan in the senate . She’s a clone of Shaheen and Kuster.

I don’t want Ayotte in the Senate, she is a clone of McConnell, McCain, Collins, Kirk, Scott Brown, Olympia Snows, etc.

Maggie Hassan can’t possibly be worse than a GOPe Senator.

Yep. She falsely ran under the Tea Party banner and turned, immediately upon arriving in DC, to the GOPe. Same with Rubio. These frauds should be voted out at the first opportunity as an object lesson to others who may contemplate faking their conservatism for political gain.

Kelly Ayotte is just another of the interchangeable parts of the Uni-party. They all sound good, but when the ink meets the paper, they vote in their own best interest.

Think again.

Hassan has the politics of Hillary Klinton and is uglier.

Ah...yes....elect the Dem who will have a 5% conservative rating....that’ll teach ‘em!

Cuz then we’ll elect a real conservative in about 18 years.....

If you don’t have a Conservative to Primary her now, then get off of your self-imolation approach to politics.

“first opportunity”???

And who is your Conservative alternative?

I love this “teach ‘em a lesson” approach to politics.....

Agreed. Sure, get her out of office along with a few other GOP-e and that’ll show em. Of course, then we won’t have to worry about McConnell because the senate will be owned by the Dems. Brilliant deduction.
