I’d rather have a wrecking bar in my hands for ripping through sheetrock, but that’s just me.

Using children for this purpose is why they call these residents crooked. ;-)

Saw a british aid worker on Crooked Island give a report that these people have nothing left. No food, water or ability to cook.

It’s like the third world’s third world.

People have lived there for hundreds of years.

Hurricanes come every year, always have.

The residents need to see how it used to be done, and keep some preps for the next storm. They just got 10” of rain and have no water......really?

That house in the pic is nothing like the construction I saw in the Bahammas. No reinforcing, no rebar, no solid corners, all of which I saw in the building going on in the 80s.

So far there have been 120 bridges washed out in SC. Over 300 roads have been closed due to flooding, damage and or both. Something like close to a dozen dams are in danger of failing.

I’ve lived through a flood, I’ll never diss those who have. It can seriously hose your life. Everything that water touches that is at all absorbent is pretty much destroyed. I had a business flooded out, pretty much the only thing that came out were the Rubbermaid plastic trashbaskers.

We were under evacuation warning in my neighborhood.

The sunshine this morning looked so good. Me, my wonderful wife, and fantastic dog who I am ever so grateful for took a hike down the main road. Saw washout at a creek and made it to the small bridge a mile and change away.

It’s totally gone.

Most of Forest Acres and parts of NE were out. If we had to go, I would have tried to headed north towards Charlotte where I have family and friends. Glad I didn’t have to roll the dice on that.

Home and car no damage. The truck I had is a flood victim , caught in a flash flood on a legit trip. We have flood and some kind of comprehensive umbrella policy. One insurance type thinks it should be OK. There are savings if not.

It’s still where I got pulled. We have a new set of FB eyes there. Still might be days before it gets pulled out.

News choppers running around. Glad to see them and the live views. Hard to fathom it.
